Disparities in Healthcare

Our communities are suffering from such strong disparities in health care, it makes me cringe. Americans are either under insured or not insured at all. People are afraid to seek medical care for symptoms of disease for fear of the costs involved. Nursing homes are grossly understaffed, and the patient population suffers. We have a strong population of people who, even though insured, do not have a primary care physician. Even among those who do, there seems to be preferential treatment, for people who have "stronger" medical coverage. Speaking of coverage, why is dental care so expensive and difficult to cover? Why are the insurance companies covering so little, requiring more out-of-pocket fees of the patient? We are medically treated as if we have a caste system. If you do not have a large income with numerous, unlimited coverage, you can bet your ass you will receive negligible treatment. If you are hospitalized, and you don't receive frequent visits, you will be ignored. I know this to be true, because I witness it daily. I have spent numerous moments with patients who seem to simply need companionship, comforting, and reassurance. It appears that the primary care-giver of that patient rarely has a moment, to say a kind word, put the patient at ease.

Nursing home patients, are frequently admitted to our Emergency Rooms and Intensive Care Units with fever, infection, dehydration, pain management issues, injuries, and advanced disease. We could call it neglect, but let's be more honest. There is poor training and poor staffing. During the times inspections are scheduled, nursing home administrators conveniently staff properly, to "look as if" the patient/care-giver ratio meets standard requirements. The moment that "inspection" is done, it's back to the usual understaffing situation that's more acceptable for their budgets. Patients are not properly bathed, medication dosages are missed, feeding times fall way behind if not missed altogether. We receive these patients, get them stable, only to send them back to prepare for the next time. Incidently, each time there is an admission, there is bigger revenue. So it would appear, that discharging and re-admitting these patients, helps to make money for these facilities. It makes you wonder.

On the flip side, health care workers are over worked and severly underpaid. We get injured, we get sick, we suffer from fatigue. Our health coverage is crappy, yet we're supposed to work with a smile. We are forced, in this economy, to hold more than one position. There was a time, when working a second job was done to plan for something fun, now it's become a vital need for basic survival.

Something has got to be done! We need to speak up for a change to happen. For too long, people have just sat back and accepted this mistreatment. I listen to these people lobbying for these political positions, and they bicker and battle like a bunch of childish idiots. They insult the citizens of this country blatantly, and unabashedly...and we continue to allow them to.

Emotion is a conditional state. We frequently say we want "unconditional" love. It doesn't exist. That's a coined phrase that's been branded into our psyches. We've all fallen for it. Look at love in itself. We can love openly and freely, yet when pain becomes part of the equation, the condition becomes injured/weakened. The only person expecting to eliminate "conditions" at this point, is the person creating the pain*. Some people actually try to quote biblical scriptures, suggesting forgiveness. The truth of the matter is, we have been conditioned to NOT actually love. We can only act as if.

We refuse to sacrifice selfish "requirements" and/or superficial wants in the name of love. We have to make certain impressions. The average person struggles with taking responsibility for pain he/she has caused. This person typically has experienced and/or witnessed abusive behavior, as an accepted norm. We have been conditioned for centuries to: not trust one another, not believe in ourselves, reject the family unit, betray one another, injure each other, and abandon our homes. We accept these behaviors as a culture. We realize this isn't natural but necessary to maintain "peace" for those we "love". We call ourselves being protective by hiding and suppressing the true and natural desire to nurture.

We don't have an acctual culture. What we have is a hodge-podge of mis-matched abusive practices and conditioning. We have a legacy of influences which has left us angry, confused, and in turmoil. Our communities are suffering. We suffer from anxiety, depression, low-self esteem, fear, and resistance. At the crux of it all, lies distrust. One of the worse things we habitually do is, shun the curiosity of our children. Answer their questions. If you don't have the answers, find them and share them openly and lovingly. We are negligently stifling their growth, maturity, and potential toward greatness and in the process, pointing the finger at others.

You are your child's FIRST and STRONGEST influence and teacher. You are the ambassador for your child's future. Your actions are perceived as "how life is" by your child. Be very careful of your choices. The level of anger in our Chicago streets* and schools is NOT disproportionate to the level of anger and despair witnessed at "HOME". Our children watch our actions and "listen" to our conversations, our opinions....intensely. They receive our emotions through repetition. Start learning to seek solutions, when a problem arises. Put those solutions to action. Allow our children to learn that there is always a better way. Realize that when you continually encounter strong obstacles, you need to change your path. You are the common denominator in all your problems. Aggression and hostility is never to be used as an instrument for respect. It will only serve to perpetuate fear. The very fear that incites rage to begin with. It becomes a vicious cycle.

We are afraid to trust. We are afraid of what we "think" we can't do. We are afraid to put forth effort. We are afraid to fail. We are afraid of ridicule by our peers and family. We are afraid to succeed (that's the saddest). Learn to understand that we only need to fear God, the rest is a piece of cake. The biggest problem we have as "Black People"*, is we want someone to tell us what we can do. We're constantly seeking and waiting for permission and assistance. Get up and DO IT YOURSELF. My mother used to fuss and say, "if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself". Now, as I got older, I realized that many of my peers grew up hearing that very same statement, regardless* of race. I simply thought that lady was being mean. Yet, of the many things she would say, that statement is by far among my favorites.

The written word is a powerful tool. Use it to your advantage. READ, READ, READ. Read for entertainment. Read for understanding. Read for information and direction. Read to take an emotional journey. Read to teach your children to read. Stop under-estimating yourself and others. Stop under-estimating our children. Most of all, PLEASE stop ridiculing and injuring our children's natural curiosity and eagerness to learn and excel. We learn fear by witnessed and perpetuated fear. Take those first steps and teach yourself and your children to soar. Those fear mongers and fools who instilled this belief system in our psyches are long gone. Leave them there and create a stronger future. Create a true culture of awareness. Create a true culture of love. Create a true culture of inner strength. Create a true culture of confidence. Create a true culture of trusting and giving.

Note: There are words I marked with an asterick (*). I need to address these words.

1. Pain..........This pain appears in many forms, whether it is by abusive behavior, negligence or disappointment.

2. Black People....I notice over the decades we've taken on the identity of "African Americans", and it conveniently makes it an easy address for people of other races to use. Personally, I am curious, as to which country in that great continent would I identify. Are we coastal or more inland. If coastal, would it be nearer the western coast or eastern coast, northernly or more southernly. I cannot claim dual citizenship, of a continent to which I have never set foot and have no true connection.

3. Regardless...This word has been misused too frequently, and accepted as such. There is NO SUCH WORD AS "irregardless". That would actually be a double negative indicating full regard. Think it through.

America

Considering we've been in this country for CENTURIES, why would we settle for Celebrating US, our heritage, one month out of the year? I'm gonna post a summary of the Willie Lynch Letters, let's think about his address to the Virginian slave owners:

Willie Lynch: This man was a British Slave owner, in the West Indies. He delivered a speech on the banks of the St. James River, in Va in 1712. He addressed the Colony's slave owners, with a "fool proof system" of creating a perpertually prosperous plantation. The term "Lynching" is derived from his name. His speech was broken down into sections. I will not quote the entire Document, but I'm gonna post segments as outlined.

He prefaces his address with this statement:

"GENTLEMEN, I HAVE A FULL PROOF METHOD FOR CONTROLLING YOUR BLACK SLAVES. I guarantee every one of you that if installed correctly IT WILL CONTROL THE SLAVES FOR AT LEAST 300 HUNDREDS YEARS. My method is simple. An member of your family or your overseer can use it. I HAVE OUTLINED A NUMBER OF DIFFERENCES AMONG THE SLAVES; AND I TAKE THESE DIFFERENCES AND MAKE THEM BIGGER. I USE FEAR, DISTRUST AND ENVY FOR CONTROL PURPOSES"

{Now, please forgive the punctuation and changes in Cap/Lowercase. I quoted exactly as it is written.}

"I shall give you an outline of action. But before that, I shall assure you that DISTRUST IS STRONGER THAN TRUST AND ENVY STRONGER THAN ADULATION, RESPECT, OR ADMIRATION"

{He goes on fiurther to say}

"The black slaves, after receiving this indoctrination shall carry on and will become self refueling and self generating for HUNDREDS of years, maybe even THOUSANDS. Don't forget, you must pitch the OLD black Male vs. the YOUNG black Male, and the YOUNG black Male against the OLD black Male. You must use the DARK skin slaves vs. the LIGHT skin slaves, and the LIGHT skin slaves vs. the DARK skin slaves. YOu must use the FEMALE vs. the MALE and the MALE vs. the FEMALE. You must also have your white servants and over-seers distrust all Blacks."

{His method is broken down as such}

*The Breaking Process of the African Woman
*The Negro Marriage Unit
*Controlled Language

As I walk out the door, I sign onto IMVU, go to work, and even when I'm out shopping...........I can truly say, Willie Lynch's methods are truly in FULL EFFECT!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Continuing my series..........on the Willie Lynch Letters, I try to quote completely however, when the use of the "N" word appears, I will have to blank it out. Next address, from Willie Lynch to the Virginian slave owners, is:
CARDINAL PRINCIPLES FOR MAKING A NEGRO...
I quote:
"We lay down the following principles for long range comprehensive planning...
1. Both horse and N-----s is no good to the economy in the wild or natural state.
2. Both must be BROKEN and TIED together for orderly production.
3. For orderly future, special and particular attention must be paid to the FEMALE and the YOUNGEST offspring.
4. Both must be CROSSBRED to produce a variety and division of labor.
5. Both must be taught to respond to a peculiar new LANGUAGE.
6. Psychological and pysical instruction of CONTAINMENT must be created for both.
...there is an art in long range economic planning. YOU MUST KEEP YOUR EYE AND THOUGHTS ON THE FEMALE and the OFFSPRING."
{He consistently uses this pairing of horse and human, throughout his delivery}
At the end of this section, he goes on to emphasize more:
"Take the meanest and most restless "n----r", strip him of his clothes in front of the remaining male "n----rs", the female, and the "n----r" infant, tar and feather him, tie each leg to a different horse faced in opposite directions, set him a fire and beat both horses to pull him apart in front of the remaining "n-----r". The next step is to take a bull whip and beat the remaining "n----r" male to the point of death, in front of the female and the infant. Don't kill him, but PUT THE FEAR OF GOD IN HIM, for he can be useful for future breeding."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Here we are on the next sub-category, THE BREAKING OF THE AFRICAN WOMAN. In this portion of Willie Lynch's address, he describes to his audience his method of conditioning the mind of the female slaves, in his economic plan, to further "grow" his plantation.

He goes on as such:

"Take the female and run a series of tests on her to see if she will submit to your desires willingly. Test her in every way, because she is the most important factor to good economics. If she shows any sign of resistance in submitting completely to your will, do not hesistate to use the bull whip on her to extract that last bit of bitch out of her. Take care not to kill her, for in doing so, you spoil good economics."

Now, we have seen this behavior perpetuated over the years by spousal abuse, the pimp game in addressing the prostitutes, and ultimately the behavioral issues of bullies.

continuing on............

"We reversed nature by burning and pulling a civilized 'n----r' apart and bull whipping the other to the point of death, all in her presence. By her being left alone, unprotected, with the MALE IMAGE DESTROYED, the ordeal caused her to move from her psychological dependent state to a frozen independent state. In this frozen psychological state of independence, she will raise her MALE and female offspring in reversed roles. For FEAR of the young males life she will psychologically train him to be MENTALLY WEAK and DEPENDENT, but PHYSICALLY STRONG. Because she has become psychologically independent, she will train her FEMALE off springs to be psychologically indpendent. What have you got? You've got the 'n----r' WOMAN OUT FRONT AND THE 'n----r' MAN BEHIND AND SCARED. This is a perfect situation of sound sleep and economic."

Later on I will provide the last few sub-categories of his address. Thinking about this "role" reversal situation, we have a lot of that and have been living this way for decades. This conditioning however, was not originated by Willie Lynch, he simply made money using these methods to teach other slave owners. I also want to put up a little disclamer: ANY TYPOS YOU SEE BETWEEN THE QUOTATION MARKS, it's not my fault, I'm simply typing what's written, lol. In addition, my quotes cannot be 100% because I am bleeping out the N word.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Next to last, as we are wrapping things up regarding Mr. Lynch, we will look at how he addresses what he calls "THE NEGRO MARRIAGE UNIT".
Keep in mind, he's not really seeing the Negro marriage as a true spritual bond, in the eyes of our Lord. His only goal, at ALL TIMES is to make "GOOD ECONOMICS".
Here we go:
"We breed to 'n----r' males with two 'n----r' females. Then we take the 'n----r' male away from them, and keep them moving and working."
Now without quoting the entire passage on this, because it's rather redundant. I'll summarize. He essentially sees a means to further his plan of mental conditioning by breeding and raising the male and female slave in the previously mentioned state of mind. He repeatedly reminds his audience, "that is good, sound, and long range comprehensive planning".
He goes on to warn them:
"WARNING: POSSIBLE INTERLOPING NEGATIVES
...we talked about paying particular attention to the female savage and her offspring for orderly future planning, then more recently we stated that, by reversing the positions of the male and female savages, we created an orbiting cycle that turns on its own axis forever unless a phenomenon occurred and resift and positions of the male and female savages. Our experts warned us about the possibility of this phenomenon occurring, for they say that the mind has a strong drive to correct and re-correct itself over a period of time."
He decribes creating a multiplicity of phenomena and illusions to wipe out all memory and history of the natural way of life and create new mental images.
"This creation of multiplicity of phenomena and illusions entails the principle of crossbreeding the 'n----r' and the horse as we stated above, the purpose of which is to create a diversified division of labor thereby creating different levels of labor and different values of illusion at each connecting level of labor. The results of which is the severance of the points in the original beginnings for each sphere illusion. Since we feel that the subject matter may get more complicated as we proceed in laying down our economic plan concerning the purpose, reason and effect of crossbreeding horse and 'n----r', we shall lay down the following definition terms for future generations:
1. Orbiting cycle means a thing turning in a given path.
2. Axis mean upon which or around which a body turns.
3. Phenomenon means something beyond ordinary conception and inspires awe and wonder.
4. Multiplicity means a great number.
5. Sheer means globe (I so have to say something here, I been ignoring a lot of type/speech errors, but this one gets me. I BELIEVE THE WRITER MEANT TO SAY SPHERE, LOL)
6. Cross-breeding a horse means taking a horse and breeding it with an ass and you get a dumb backward ass long headed mule that is neither reproductive or productive by itself.
7. Crossbreeding 'n----rs' mean taking to many drops of good white blood and putting them into as many 'n----r' women as possible, varying the drops by the various tones that you want, and then letting them breed with each other until another circle of color appears as you desire. What this means is this; put the 'n----rs' and the horse in a breeding pot, mix some asses and some good white blood and what do you get?
You got a multiplicity of colors of ass backward unusual 'n----rs', running, tied to a backward ass long headed mules, the one productive of itself, the other sterile."
In reviewing some historical writings and reading books I've had for years, my self driven refresher course these pass two months has been far more enlightening than ever before.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The last sub-category Willie Lynch addresses is: CONTROLLED LANGUAGE

This man was something else, lawd. Here we go............

"Crossbreeding complete, for further severance from their original beginning, WE MUST COMPLETELY ANNIHILATE THE MOTHER TONGUE of both the new 'n----r' and the new mule and institute a new language that involves the new life's work of both. You know language is a peculiar institution. It leads to the heart of a people. The more a foreigner knows about the language of another country the more he is able to move through all levels of that society..........."

(he gets redundant again so I'll fast forward)

"For example, if you take a slave, if you teach him all about your language, he will know all your secrets, and he is then no more a slave, for you can't fool him any longer, and BEING A FOOL IS ONE OF THE BASIC INGREDIENTS OF AN INCIDENTS TO THE MAINTENANCE OF THE SLAVERY SYSTEM.

This concludes the Willie Lynch Series. I have read works by other authors who also reference, this particular method and mindset during that era. Also, I have noticed other situations where some version of these methods have been put to use.

My Hiatus is over.

We'll start by addressing my little Hiatus. In light of a few projects I have going, the loss of my mother and grandson some time back, and the consistant drive to keep myself reasonable by continuing to write and remaining in the health care system concurrently, I took a little time away from blogging. Well, since we have experienced one of the greatest and most historical moments in American history, I have a whole lot to talk about. Let's address a few things.

The cartoon reference with Obama and the Monkey.

The Barnes and Noble display with the children's book cover of a Monkey mixed in with the written works of our President and First Lady.

Bernie Madoff (Bernard L. Madoff) making out with stolen money for decades.

The woman who, not being infertile, not having a career, not having a man, managed to convince a physician to fertilize multiple eggs and ends up having a litter of eight children at once. Her grand total of children being fourteen. Six just didn't do it for her.

Here is one I like; the Governor of North Carolina rejects the stimulus package referring to it as an ineffective bandaid. Now, I'm not an economist, by any stretch of the imagination. However, I do realize, that if we take the ground beef and make a pot of chili with it, we can feed the whole family of five instead of just two.

Michael Jackson has major tour dates in the UK from July through September, and January through February. He's baaaaaaaaack.

The American public school system, how about it. Segregation - pros and cons; Desegregation - pros and cons.

Ok, those are the topics we can have a little fun with...or not.

What the Hell?

As you all most likely know, I like to keep up with current events, check out what's hot and what's not, and I also have this thing inside me which questions societal daily choices. Check this out, I was reading about the growing need for smaller cars. You know, we have to conserve gas and get the very best mileage we can overall. At the same time, we are extremely overweight. Picture that for a minute. I'll wait...................................Here we are buying tiny cars fitting upwards of 700 (or more) pounds in this vehicle, at any given time. That car is working hard as hell to perform. Now, tell me where the savings occur.

We'll start with that one, but trust me, I have soooooooo much more to talk about, lol.
